Conf. Dr. Dragos Cirneci
Associate professor at Spiru Haret University Faculty of Psychology and Science of Education, Head of Research Centre in Neuroscience

I have a PhD in Psychology and specialized in cognitive and behavioral neurosciences. I published the first Romanian handbook of developmental cognitive neuroscience. Also I conducted scientific projects covering various topics like the brain’s mechanisms involved in addiction, the neural correlates of processing ambiguity. In the last years I worked also in the field of psychoneuroimmunology (PNI) studying the connection between sensitivity to social rejection and the immune response. Recently I published an article presenting a newly discovered connection between learning and the mechanisms involved in DNA repair and proposed a specific learning task that can be used as an alternative for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Building a bridge between fundamental research and the market I developed assessment instruments and cognitive training exercises based on the findings from the field of neuroscience.
